The evening begins with the Black Arts Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at 5:00 PM, followed by a reception at 6:30 PM, and then the Black Excellence Awards at 7:30 PM. The Black Excellence Awards were established in 2001 to honor the outstanding artistic accomplishments of Black artists across genres, including theater, dance, music, film, literature, visual art, and digital media.
